Subject: Sliding on the Cheap! Southern Cal Wintersports Deals and Discounts!

Hi Wanna be Olympians,

GO USA!! We have enjoyed some warm weather here in Southern California this past week - early spring skiing. But we need some snow, or at least some cold weather so our resorts can get those snowmaking machines going. Alas, cooler weather is on the way and some resorts may get some natural white stuff, albeit light, tonight and Thursday. Take your Valentine for a ride or visit the resorts this holiday weekend. Sooooo, wax 'em up and move on down your favorite hill. Here are your deals...

Bear Mountain - $99 Spring Season Pass
Take advantage of the Spring Season Pass for $99 - good for rides starting 3/1 to end of season. They have a 68" base and spring conditions. Since this is a holiday weekend, better get your reserved tickets online or by calling (909) 585-2519. www.bearmtn.com.

Mt. High - No Holiday Rate Increase
Mt. High is not raising prices for this holiday weekend and it's so close to L.A., and Orange. The added plus is the easy drive - no mountain roads! Don't forget to enter the WINter sweepstakes where you might win equipment, clothes, lift tickets or the Hawaiian trip. They have a 24-36" base so get over to Ralph's Supermarket and get your ticket for $29 (you can pay $10 extra at the resort to convert this to a beginner package that will get you a lower mountain lift ticket, rentals and a 1 hour and 45 minute lesson - such a deal!) - but you must have a Ralph's card to get the deal. www.mthigh.com.

Visiting other resorts in the country? Visit Weather.com for the latest weather and our Sliding on the Cheap link where you can check out all our regional newsletters. Looks like cooler weather is on the way and maybe a little snow will fall Wednesday night to Thursday. In any case, snowmaking should be an option latter this week. www.weather.com.

Mammoth - Value Pass for $399
Look ahead to next season and pick up Mammoth's Value Pass for $399 - on sale April 1 through May 31, 2002. This pass has been upgraded to also give you access to June Mountain (20 minutes north of Mammoth) and scenic summer gondola rides!! If you plan to ride 8 or more days next season, get this pass - regular season passes run over $1600 when this deal is over. For this weekend, take advantage of the multi-day passes to save a few bucks - they start at 2 days for $107, 3 days for $152 up to 5 days for $244. Want to save big on gear and clothes? Visit Stormriders and Canyon Outlet for up to 90% off. Mammoth has the best skiing in the west with a 7-8' base having received a dusting this past week. www.mammothmountain.com.

Snow Summit - Jiffy Lube 2 for 1
Before you head up to Snow Summit, have your oil changed and pick up 2 for 1 tickets at Jiffy Lube. Summit has a 24-48" base and spring conditions. Order your tickets online or call (909) 866-5841 to ensure you can ride this holiday weekend. www.snowsummit.com.
