I've nevered skied worst conditions in my life!!!!!! The snow on the front wasn't that bad....packed powder and hardpack......but the back bowls were horrible!!!!! I can't stress enough how bad the conditions on the back were. First to get there....I had to ski on a trail (off Scott's chair) that was about 4-6ft. wide, but with rocks, plants, and even SOIL everwhere. So while trying to save your skis, you have another factor.....ice. This wasn't ordinary ice in which your skis have a slim chance of bitting into, but skied off ice where all the snow was skied off and its just solid ice with very little bite for your skis. After you got through this HELL....you had to get down to Lake View chair. The slope has plats everywhere and the snow was horrible. Hardpack crud, I felt like I was sking on pebbles. The back bowl was all ice or hardpack. No actual snow or powder. Needless to say, we went back to the front. The front was ok, Packed powder. The best snow was foung in Alpine's Adventure ski areas and the bowl off the 6-pack lift. The adventure area to the far right (if you're riding up the 6-pack chair) had good packed power snow. We made at least 5 runs there. For Alpine's sake I hope it snow's soon.
