WOW!!!!! What a great day. We got to the slopes late (9:45am) and still got
to park in lot E!! This was a sign of a great day to come. There were no lift
lines and most of the times I skied right onto the chair. One time I was on
the backside and when I skied down to the lift, it was just the lift operator
and I there. I have to go ski on weekdays more often.
The weather was nice, clear blue skies, I was skiing in a sweatshirt and a
vest. Unfortuanlly, the weather caused the slopes on the backside to ice up.
The backside was totally ice and all the snow was skied off. It wasn't just a
patch of ice, but 1/2 of the slope was hard ice. The front was a little
better with mainly hard pack and some packed powder if you could find it.
For those of you who are smart and ski Logger's Loop to Cat's Face to The
Woods to get to the village, the coverage was a little thin at the bottom of
The Woods, but it is very skiable. The route is icy as usual.
The terrain parks are in place already and Northstar has yet to open the 2nd
level to its day lodge, so seating is still limited. Let it snow!!
