Loved: just having snow to ski on
Hated: EVERYTHING!!! Horrible snow coverage, bad lines, icy
Closed: backside except for 1 trail
Liftline-Waits: morning was good (3min wait) afternoon was bad (5-10min)
Moguls: crap, rocks on the downside of the moguls
Details:
I went to Alpine the previous week and what a difference. I don't know why people are saying Northstar has good snow coverage. Alpine had a lot more snow!!! Almost ALL the runs, with the exception of the main mt. run down the middle of the mt. had rocks!!! I'm not talking about rocks which you can avoid, I'm talking about the ones which you know are there when you feel and hear them tearing up you bases!! Oh the down slope of the moguls on Ax Handle, there are rocks that caused everyone to loose grip and fall. I got 4 nice sized gouges in my base just on that run alone. At Alpine, you could see the rocks and if you didn't see any, the run was nice and smooth, no hidden stuff. I can't stress enought about the damn rocks, everyone in my group (40 ppl) needed some good P-Texing at the end of the day. OH, and DON'T listen to the employees at Norhtstar who say "Power Bowl is pretty good right now" because it should be named Rock Bowl. I'd say the best runs are from the top of the mt. go left and just follow the easiest way down. That run is pretty smooth without any rocks that I can remember. Other than that, everything else was bad. Go try Alpine, much better Edgar
