Throwback Thursdays

Local Discounts
Residents of Truckee, North Lake Tahoe and Reno are eligible for midweek locals discounts on Tuesdays – Thursdays. Valid only during non-holiday periods. Valid ID must be shown. Children $14 and adults $25.

School Dayz
Beginning Monday, January 4, 2016, we will offer a mid-week discount to all students, valid on Tuesdays – Thursdays throughout the 2015/16 season. Offer valid during non-holiday periods only. Bring your Student ID. Children $14 and adults $25.

Military Discount
Full-day lift ticket rate is $25. Valid ID must be presented.

Group Policy for the Downhill Ski Area

Ski Trip Bus
The Ski Trip Bus provides bus transportation to Tahoe Donner. Their reservation system shuttles you from your town to the slope and back. Starting December 6, 2014, you can travel to Tahoe Donner with round-trip transportation on specially chartered buses. TD Lesson Special! 

Jan. 4-15, 2016, Learn to Ski Weeks
To celebrate “National Learn to Ski Month,” Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Area will be offering two-for-one private lessons and private lesson packages any midweek day from Jan. 4-15. Tahoe Donner Downhill is also offering packages on January 4-8 and 11-15 for just $39. These packages are only for first timers, which include an all-day lift ticket, rental equipment, and a 1.75 hour group lesson for ages 7 and up.

Driving Directions
Driving Directions to Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area from Reno and Sacramento:

Take Interstate 80 to Donner Pass Road, exit 184.
Travel east one-half mile to the stoplight.
Turn north onto Northwoods Boulevard.
Continue straight on Northwoods Boulevard and follow signs to the Downhill Ski Area (5 miles on the right).
Hours of Operation:
Lift Operating Hours: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tickets and Reservations Hours: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Rental Shop Hours: 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Pet Policy
During the Ski Area operations, dogs and pets are not permitted on the mountain, facility, and the sun deck. The exceptions to this rule are service dogs and our I-Did-A-Run event.

Share a Ride
Want to come ski at Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area, but don’t have transportation? Take a look at Ski Trip Bus to see if there’s a date you can catch a ride or get a group together and eliminate having to drive yourself!

Parking and Shuttle
Convenient parking is located just a few steps away from the base of the mountain. Park in one of our four parking lots and catch our courtesy shuttle for a quick ride directly to the base lodge. Shuttles run continuously so you won’t be kept waiting very long.

The ticket office is located at the lower level of the base lodge. The ticket office is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Purchase lift tickets, lessons and packages here as well as get information about the mountain and Tahoe Donner. We also offer a retail area to purchase the latest styles in outwear, helmets, goggles, gloves, souvenirs and other items you may need for a fun day on the mountain. We have a basket check, lost and found, and daily lockers for rent located inside the ticket office. We also have several coin operated lockers near the ticket office to store any additional items for the day while you’re on the slopes.

Rentals and Repair Shop

The rental and repair shop is located at the lower level of the base lodge. Open open daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the shop is stocked with equipment rentals for children and adults including skis, snowboards and telemark equipment. We have the latest gear from Elan, Burton, Scott, Nordica, Smith and Marker. The shop also offers ski and snowboard waxing, edging and tuning services.

Breakfast, Lunch, Beer, Snacks, BBQ…
The Grill serves breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On holidays and weekends the Grill is open until 4 p.m. In the morning, enjoy one of our famous breakfast burritos or our mouthwatering french toast. We have several options to choose from to help you start your day off right! For lunch we offer daily specials, kids meals and a large grill selection to choose from. For something quick, we have a convenient Grab-N-Go area with sandwiches, wraps and tasty items.

The Bar is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a full service bar, cold beer on tap and mixed drinks. Enjoy a beverage while watching the game on one of our four flat screen TVs or take in the outside scenery through our floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Sun Deck and Outdoor BBQ Area is a perfect place to relax and catch some rays. The large deck offers music, stone fire pits, cushioned lounge chairs, tables and a great view of the mountain. Sit back, relax and take advantage of our BBQ area, which is open on weekends and from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., conditions permitting.
