January 6-March 30: 55+ Ski Clinics – Diamond Peak is offering a special ski clinic series for Adults 55+ as part of the Incline Village Recreation Center Senior Programs. Diamond Peak’s PSIA Certified Instructors provide beginner, intermediate, and advanced level instruction in these weekly ski clinics for ages 55+. Instruction is designed to help skiers return to the sport, improve, adjust, or modify techniques and encourage lifelong skiing. Learn how to use new equipment and meet other skiers. January 9, 23; February 20 & March 5: Backcountry Experience Series – Diamond Peak Ski Resort, Tahoe Mountain Sports, Tahoe Mountain School and Dynafit present the 2016 Backcountry Experience Series. Open to intermediate and advanced skiers and riders, the Backcountry Experience Series is designed to provide a safe and welcoming introduction to backcountry skiing and boarding. These fully guided backcountry tours explore terrain in Diamond Peak’s Golden Eagle Bowl in a small group setting. The $149 tour package include lift access, backcountry ski package provided by Dynafit, avalanche rescue gear provided by Ortovox, and professional guiding services. January 11-15: Learn to Ski & Snowboard Week $39 Learn to Ski & Ride Packages – Diamond Peak Ski Resort is offering special Learn to Ski & Ride packages January 11- 15 as part of national “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month.” The Ski and Snowboard School (ages 7 and up) will have Learn to Ski and Burton Learn to Ride packages for just $39. The package includes a beginner lift ticket, rental equipment and 1 hr 45 min lesson beginning at 10am or 2pm. The Diamond Peak Child Ski Center will also offer a 2 hour $39 Learn to Ski package for ages 4-7 at 10am. These lessons will help first timers start off with a good foundation and gain confidence. No advance reservations. Please arrive at least an hour before the lesson start time. January 22-24: 7th Annual Ullr Fest – The 7th annual Ullr Fest, to raise funds for the Diamond Peak Ski Team, is January 22-24. The action-packed weekend kicks off Friday with a BBQ, torch light parade, bonfire with community snow dance, raffles, drink specials and live music with Jacked Up. The fun continues Saturday with games, Jiblet rail jam competition and more. There is a banquet dinner Saturday evening at The Chateau at Incline Village and tickets are available on dpsef.org. Saturdays February 6- April 9: Last Tracks Wine/Beer Tastings – Every Saturday, February through April, enjoy beautiful views of Lake Tahoe from Snowflake Lodge while tasting fine wines or craft brews paired with tasty appetizers. At the end of the event, ski or snowboard down a freshly groomed run at sunset. Last Tracks tickets are $34 and include a lift ticket valid from 2pm until 4pm Participants must be 21 years old and ski or snowboard at an intermediate level. SNOWsat Grooming Technology: Last season Diamond Peak debuted PistenBullys new SNOWsat technology for the United States. The initial season was a success, allowing groomers to provide excellent conditions in a dry year. These GPS-enhanced snow groomers generate a cartographic image of the slopes used to accurately measure snow depths and ensure the best coverage for skiers and riders. Diamond Peak also just added 10 more HKD demo snow guns to their fleet for 2015-16.
