Starting Dec 1, REI members ($20 for lifetime membership) can prepurchase discounted lift tickets at any of their Bay Area stores. You should call first to confirm availability. Northstar tickets can also be exchanged for adult beginner ski or snowboard packages ($99-$114 value!) or can be used as a $75 credit towards children's lesson packages. Liftopia's lift ticket prices vary based on what day you want to ski/ride (weekdays cheaper, of course). So I've gone through and found the highest price you'll pay, but there were also cheaper days, as well as a lot of blacked out days. Still, it's worth a look if you have your dates locked down.
