Hello Sliders!
Oh man...I've seen some storms blow into Tahoe, but this one really rocked. The photo is Dave Schotzko, shredding Burnout on the Backside of Northstar-at-Tahoe. If you scan down the photos, you'll see Dave about twenty minutes later. We're standing in a full-on early season blizzard!
Twenty four hours and (up to) four feet later, Lake Tahoe ski resorts were busy grooming all that snow and opening way more terrain than we usually see before the holidays. Our Facebook fans get a running update and a first shot at deals. Become our fan at http://www.facebook.com/slidingonthecheap
*Alpine Meadows Video
Awesome video at Alpine, thanks to Rachael. Want to see deep snow? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about! http://blog.skialpine.com/
*Current Conditions
They are changing so fast, we hesitate to list them on the SOTC newsletter. Best to check the website of your favorite resort to see what they have planned for the weekend. More snow is on the way, and that will again change the terrain and slope situation.
*Skinny
Listen up dear sliders, as we pass along the best advice we'll have for you all season long. Between now and December 24th will be the best skiing and riding for your dollar all the way until March. There are tons of early season ticket deals, we've got some killer hotel, and most people are too busy shopping to ski or ride these awesome conditions.
*SOTC Reader Special

Yes! We've got all kinds. If you're headed up over the holiday, now is the time to get that hotel/motel squared away. Where does the Crew stay during the holiday? Easy one: Tahoe Biltmore and Casino on Northshore. Great value. Other favorites include The Lakeside Casino Southshore, Motel 6 Southshore and anything in Reno!
*Mike Pechner Weekend Weather Forecast! "Weather system is due Thursday, continuing on Friday. Skies will clear overnight with mostly sunny skies and highs in the 30s on Saturday. The next weather system? Sunday afternoon with snow and winds continuing on Monday. Snow level will be around 5000 ft. Totals one to three feet of new snow. "
*SOTC The Website!
We can't post all the deals here. Darryl has it updated with endless deals. Make sure to check the website at http://www.slidingonthecheap.com for deals galore!
