Big Storm Inbound!
Hello Sliders!

*Mike Pechner's Forecast
Beginng Sunday night, snow in the forecast. Several storms will dump snow from Mt. Shasta to Mt. Baldy. Now, hold on to your knickers... Mike Pechner says 4-6 feet of snow possibe by a week from Sunday!

If you're thinking about booking a holiday ski/snowboard, now is the time to get it done, if you want to save some money, here's the key tip. The week prior to Christmas is always the bargain. You'll still find early season lodging and ticket values and the crowds are light.

*Hotel/Motel Crew Suggestions
We love the Tahoe Biltmore on the Northshore, and the Lakeside Casino and Motel 6 on the southshore for great deals. Most of the casinos will offer cheaper rooms, hoping you'll sit down and hit the tables and slots.

*Reno
It's a 45 minute commute to most of the mountains, but you'll always find awesome deals at most Reno Casinos and even the smaller motels. If you do stay in Reno, Mt. Rose-Ski Tahoe is a great choice: nearby with shuttles, and with a high base elevation, generally good snow.

*Tickets
Sure, you can walk up to the ticket booth and pay the holiday premium, but that's not necessary with discounts available via sports shops like Sports Basement, REI, Any mountain and retailers like Costco. You can purchase ticket paks from resorts like Northstar/Sierra for good holiday discounts and Diamond Peak, even has a holiday only pass.

*Facebook
Make sure to become a fan of our Sliding on the Cheap Facebook page. We can't publish all the deals we find during the week on in the newsletter or on the website, so Facebook is an awesome source for last minute hotel, and lift ticket deals!
