Sugar Bowl (Regularly $50/$63)
$20 Skiing for Schools
To support local schools, various resorts donate some or all proceeds from a limited quantity of discounted tickets to the Excellence in Education Foundation. You can pre-purchase them the week before at Porter's Ski Shops. You should call first to confirm availability. Alpine tickets will be available on-site -- no prepurchase necessary. Squaw will pre-sell their tickets on their website beginning Dec. 1. Dates are: Squaw 12/17, Sugar Bowl 12/23 and 3/24, Northstar 1/7, Homewood 3/18, and Alpine TBD. Dates will also be listed on our calendar. (Alpine tickets will be available at the resort for a reduced price this day!)

Support the Sierra Avalanche Center (which provides valuable snowpack stability info for backcountry travelers) by skiing inbounds for cheap! Must pre-purchase through the link on their website. Dates: Mt. Rose 12/17, Kirkwood 1/21, Homewood 2/4, and Sugar Bowl 3/25. (Limited quantities, so check back a few weeks before each date and order early!)

$49.99 $39.99 (price at the Westgate Any Mountain) gets you a Value Pak that includes: one non-holiday Sugar Bowl lift ticket OR free membership in Sugar Bowl's Core Mountain Club (so subsequent tickets are $10 off); free subscription to Tahoe Quarterly; and various other coupons/freebies. San Francisco sports shop sells discounted lift tickets -- in-store only. Must sign up for free "Rewards Card" Membership. Northstar/Sierra tickets can also be exchanged for adult or child beginner ski or snowboard packages ($89-$102 value!) When used at Sierra as a lift ticket, you also get a $5 food/rentals/services voucher. Sugar Bowl tickets will require an $11 "upgrade" at the ticket window for holiday use.

$53 Core Mountain Club
Sign-up online for $49 ($59 at the resort). Gets you $10 off every daily lift ticket for the rest of the season via a scannable pass that lets you go directly to the lift (it's linked to your credit card). That's $53 on holidays and $40 (!) anytime else. Also comes with a free non-holiday lift ticket. System also tracks vertical feet for every run and you can earn points towards prizes (gear, discounts, etc.), a la Northstar/Sierra's Vertical Plus. However, they won't have dedicated lift lines -- you'll have to get scanned by a liftie each time.
$53 Tahoe Card
The purchase of a $44.99 ($39.99 if you buy 2 or more or if you purchase at Costco) discount card from Snowbomb includes free early/late season lift ticket to Sugar Bowl or Kirkwood (also good Mon-Thu non-holiday). $24.99 card from Snowbomb (the Platinum Card that included the free ticket is sold out). Discounts obtained either through pre-purchasing "e-tickets" on-line, or at some resorts (Boreal, Dodge Ridge, Northstar, Sierra) by simply showing card. Squaw e-tickets valid *any day* including holidays! Northstar/Sierra discounts ($10) only available Mon-Fri, non-holiday. Alpine and Mt. Rose discounts only available non-holiday. Otherwise, prices listed here are for holiday/weekend rates. Prices even cheaper for non-holiday tickets for Sugar Bowl ($43), Kirkwood ($52 Mon-Thu), Homewood ($25 Mon-Thu), Northstar/Sierra ($43 during Value Season), Diamond Peak ($31 Mon-Fri), and Bear Valley ($36 Mon-Fri). Also includes: $10 non-holiday lift ticket to Diamond Peak, FREE ticket to Tahoe XC; several free tune-ups and rental packages from Bay Area, Sacramento, Stockton, Tahoe, and Reno ski/board shops; Food freebies; Lodging and other discounts. $58 BeyondWork pre-purchase
Pre-purchase tickets at discounted prices. The catch? Your company must be registered with BeyondWork -- you'll need to check with your HR/Benefits department. All except Bear Valley and Heavenly are E-tickets: print and bring to ticket window w/ ID. Heavenly paper tickets are cheaper than e-ticket. Bear Valley tickets ($48) are for Holiday Periods ONLY. Paper tickets can be sent in the mail ($0.99 USPS), or picked up Beyond Work's San Jose offices for free. Boreal e-tickets not valid holiday periods. Northstar/Sierra e-tickets can be exchanged for adult or child beginner ski or snowboard package ($89-$102 value!). If Northstar/Sierra e-ticket used just as a lift ticket at Sierra, you also get a $5 food/retail voucher. Homewood Mon-Thu, non-holiday e-ticket is $23! Sugar Bowl holiday e-ticket is $58; non-holiday e-ticket is $46!

$58 Ski Tahoe North Interchangeable Lift Ticket
Buy a 2-7 day pack of vouchers that are good at any of the North Lake Tahoe downhill or cross-country reports. Note that this is only a discount if you use them at Squaw, Northstar (!), or during holidays, Sugar Bowl. What's good is that they don't have to be used on consecutive days, and they can be shared! $5 shipping by USPS (allow 1 week) or you can have them hold them for pickup at the Visitors Information Center in Tahoe City for no charge. Recently informed that if you buy tickets in person at the Chamber of Commerce, there is a 3-ticket minimum, due to some Squaw restriction.

Bring a McDonalds receipt to the ticket window and Sugar Bowl will give you $10 off the "First Turns" Learn to Ski Package, normally $85. Discount also gets you $10 a lift ticket for kids aged 6-12 (normally $15). Each child must be accompanied by a paying adult in their immediate family. Best part: Sugar Bowl donates $2 per McSki participant to the Ronald McDoonald charities!
$83 NAC Ski Bus
$81-$96 gets you a bus ride and lift ticket. $42 for bus-ride only. Prices vary by destination (holiday rates listed, may be cheaper). Pickups vary by trip: Colleges: SJSU, SFSU, UCB, Stanford, UCD, Sac State; Milpitas, Redwood City, SF, El Cerrito, Pleasanton, San Leandro. Specific prices and dates at the link, or on our calendar.
