$20 Skiing for Schools
To support local schools, various resorts donate some or all proceeds from a limited quantity of discounted tickets to the Excellence in Education Foundation. You can pre-purchase them the week before at Porter's Ski Shops. You should call first to confirm availability. Alpine tickets will be available on-site -- no prepurchase necessary. Squaw will pre-sell their tickets on their website beginning Dec. 1. Dates are: Sugar Bowl 12/18 and 3/19, Northstar 1/8, Squaw 1/22, and Alpine TBD. Dates will also be listed on our calendar. New! More dates added: Sugar Bowl Tue 2/21, Sugar Bowl Sun 3/19, Alpine Sun 4/9. (Alpine tickets will be available at the resort for a reduced price this day!)

$37 Lombardi's Pre-Purchase
San Francisco sports shop sells discounted lift tickets -- in-store only. Must sign up for free "Rewards Card" Membership. Alpine tix are $47 Holiday/$39 Non-Holiday. Homewood are $34 weekend, $24 weekday. Northstar/Sierra vouchers include $8 food/retail voucher when used at Sierra.

$37 Tahoe Card
The purchase of a $49.99 ($39.99 if you buy 2 or more) discount card from Snowbomb includes free early/late season lift ticket to Sugar Bowl or Kirkwood (also good Mon-Thu non-holiday). Discounts obtained either through pre-purchasing "e-tickets" on-line, or at some resorts (Northstar, Sierra, Boreal) by simply showing card. Squaw discount ($9) now available anytime! Northstar/Sierra discount ($10) only available Mon-Fri, non-holiday. Mt. Rose discount ($10) only available non-holiday. Otherwise, prices listed here are for holiday/weekend rates. Prices even cheaper for weekday tickets for Kirkwood, Homewood, Diamond Peak, and Bear Valley. Also includes a $10 non-holiday lift ticket to Diamond Peak, and a free Tahoe XC ticket. Card also gets you several free tune-ups and rental packages from Bay Area, Tahoe, and Reno ski/board shops. Food freebies like ice cream, coffee and appetizers. And lodging and other deals. Check the site for all the extras, along with the various restrictions.

$37 Tahoe Traveler Value Pak
$36.95 for Sugarbowl, $53.95 for Kirkwood gets you a Value Pak that includes: one lift ticket (no restrictions!); coupons for: $25 off purchases of $150 or more at Any Mountain Stores; 2-for-1 ski/board rentals from Any Mountain Stores; 2-for-1 ski/board tune-ups from Any Mountain Stores; One-year FREE subscription to Tahoe Quarterly Magazine; free Tahoe Quarterly Photo Annual coffee table book. You can pick these paks at all Any Mountain locations. They're also available from the website directly.
$39 Pre-purchase at Helm of San Mateo
So their website needs updating, but I called them, and they are selling discounted tickets.

Pre-purchase tickets at Helm of Sun Valley in San Jose (on Saratoga) or Capitola. They're also selling the $29 KSEF Value Books that have three 2-for-1 coupons for Kirkwood plus other offers.

$40 REI prepurchase
If you're an REI member ($15 for lifetime membership), you can prepurchase discounted lift tickets at any of their Bay Area stores. You should call first to confirm availability. Northstar/Sierra vouchers, when used at Sierra, include an $8 food voucher. (Note that Alpine tickets are not discounted, but are direct-to-lift tickets, so you can avoid waiting in line or sell-outs.)

$48 BeyondWork pre-purchase
Pre-purchase tickets at discounted prices. The catch? Your company must be registered with BeyondWork -- you'll need to check with your HR/Benefits department. You'll have to pay for shipping ($0.99 USPS), or you can pick them up from their San Jose offices for free. Northstar/Sierra vouchers when used at Sierra include a $8 food or retail credit. Homewood, Mt. Rose, Squaw and Sugar Bowl are E-tickets: print and bring to ticket window w/ ID. Paper tickets also available for Squaw, at $59. Homewood also offers $23 Mon-Thu non-holiday E-tickets.

Bring a McDonalds receipt to the ticket window and Sugar Bowl will give you $10 off the "First Turns" Learn to Ski Package, normally $85. Discount also gets you $10 a lift ticket for kids aged 6-12 (normally $15). Each child must be accompanied by a paying adult in their immediate family. Best part: Sugar Bowl donates $2 per McSki participant to the Ronald McDoonald charities!
$85 SnowBomb Bus
$85 gets you a ride and a lift ticket. Pickups in San Jose, San Francisco, and Berkeley. Dates at the link, or on our calendar. $49 bus ride only, add $25 for beginner's package.

$104 Bay Area Ski Bus
$104 base price ($99/weekdays) buys you a ride up to and back from the resort on a luxury bus (no dealing with driving, or worse still, chains), a lift ticket for Alpine, Heavenly, Kirkwood, Northstar, Sierra, Squaw, or Sugar Bowl, and a continental breakfast. Add $5 for Heavenly, $10 for Squaw. $64 for the bus ride only. Add $5 for pickups in Belmont, Santa Clara, Marin, or San Francisco. Includes apres ski snacks and movies on the trip back. They've also got teen, family, and college buses, and longer trips to North and South Lake Tahoe, Jackson Hole, Mammoth, Telluride, and Aleyska (!). Great crew - check out the site for more details!
