$78 base price buys you a ride up to and back from the resort on a luxury bus (no dealing with driving, or worse still, chains) and a lift ticket for Kirkwood, Sierra, Sugar Bowl, Squaw, Northstar, or Alpine Meadows. (Different resorts on different days - see link or our calendar). $78 from East Bay, $84 from SF or Santa Clara. Add $5 for Squaw or Northstar trips. $40 for the bus ride only. They've also got two-day trips for $195 ($205 SF/SC) that include lodging, *and* a 4-day Utah trip for $725. Check their site for details.

Get your company to sign-up (it's free), and you get discounts on lift tickets for various resorts by pre-purchasing them on-line. BONUS: most of these tickets are good for either a lift ticket *or* a beginner's package. Major savings if you have a first-timer with you!

Community Ski Pass
The Truckee Tahoe Community Foundation sells this mid-week (Mon-Fri) multi-ticket for $299. It's interchangeable, and gives you two tickets each at 12 different resorts (8 downhill, 4 cross-country). For flexibility, you can either use the two tickets on separate days, or two people can go on the same day.

So even if you only used it for Alpine, Northstar, Squaw, and Sugar Bowl it would come out to $37 per person per day. But you also get two days each at Boreal, Homewood, Donner Ski Ranch, and Granlibakken. And if you or a friend does cross-country skiing, you also get two days each at North Tahoe Regional Park, Royal Gorge, Tahoe Cross Country, Tahoe Donner Cross Country. Additionally, the pass comes with several free rental packages along with discounts on merchandise from various North Tahoe shops.

$89 buys you: a full day adult lift ticket to the specified resort; round trip motorcoach transportation from San Francisco, Redwood City, Santa Clara or San Jose; enroute beverages and movies. Here's a deal if you're staying in South Lake but want to get a day in at Squaw. $45 gets you a lift ticket *and* a ride on the shuttle. $56 gets you the same deal (but not at such a savings) to Northstar. Go to the Carriage House, which is the liquor shop across from the valet. For more information, call (800) 687-7733 and ask for the Carriage House.

Interchangeable ticket - minimum 3-days ($147), maximum 6-days ($291). You get a voucher for each day purchased. Two adults may ski on one voucher at Homewood (Mon.-Thurs.) and Diamond Peak (any day). You can get a lesson with lift at Mt. Rose. SnowFest Gold Pass
$360 buys you 34 midweek days of sliding during the season - 21 downhill resorts and 13 cross-country. If you can ride Mondays through Fridays, and want to hit nearly all of the North Tahoe resorts, check this out! Even if you and a friend just used it for Squaw, Alpine, Sugar Bowl, Homewood and Boreal, it breaks down to $36 per lift ticket! It's transferrable, and two people can use it on the same day - great for couples or a group of friends. Also good on the weekends of the Snowfest, Feb. 23-24, and Mar. 3-4.

$30 (+$2.50 s/h) card gets you discounts at 6 resorts, although for a few you have to pre-order the tickets online. Northstar/Sierra discounts are not valid Saturdays or certain holiday weekends. You also get a free membership in the Sugar Bowl Adventure Advantage program (normally $12), and an Alpine POWDR Card (normally free). Included free rental package and tune-up are good values. The various lodging deals are mostly only good mid-week. And finally, there's some dining and entertainment deals.

Value Season
Pick up a voucher at a participating Partner Shop, and you can get a Northstar or Sierra lift ticket for $34. Vouchers are good anytime before Dec. 17 and from Apr. 2 through the end of the season. They're also good Jan. 2-12.

Vertical Plus
This is the one that I've personally gotten for the past three seasons. For $59, you get an armband that entitles you to "members-only" lift lines, which can really speed things up on a busy weekend. You also save on tickets: Northstar: $6 off all days. Sierra: $21(!) off Mon-Fri, $7 off Sat-Sun, holidays. To top it off, you also get prizes for the total accumulated feet you ride.
